Welcome Back Shihan Chris Johnston, Rokudan
Shihan Chris Johnston, Rokudan has recently re-joined the Traditional Karate Association. Shihan Johnston has been practicing Karate for more than 40 years. He passed his Rokudan (6th Dan) test in 2000. He then researched the original methods of Kata including kihon (basic movement pattern) Bunkai Oyo (application). Shihan Johnston resides in Urbana, IL, where he has been teaching for over 30 years. Shihan has a wealth of kata knowledge which he learned from Soke Ruiz, Soke Baillargeon, Sensei Robert (Bob Cat) Kelsey, Sensei Robert Zepecki. as well as Kaicho Adams. We welcome Shihan Johnston and his students back into the TKA.
 
JUNE 29TH, 2011
 
Black Belt Testing was held at the Hombu Dojo. During the 3 hour test, students demonstrated their knowledge of basics, combinations, numerous kata, kumite, self defense, and board breaking. Below are the new black belt ranks:

Kaicho Adams shared knowledge at Florida Karate Center, Naples during a six hour seminar covering the open hand kata; Wansu, Chung Jang, and Kobudo kata; Matsuhiga No Kon. The Seminar was sponsored by Shihan Jack Morris and Renshi Pam Morris, owners of Florida Karate Center, Naples.

BLACK BELT TESTING
Sensei Ronnie Moose of the Clermont TKA Location earned his Yondan (4th Dan) in Sansei Shitoh-Ryu Karate-Do after fifteen years of continues practice with Kaicho Adams. He was also conferred the title of Renshi.
 
Renshi Scott Quint earn the rank of Yondan (4th Dan) in Sansei Shitoh-Ryu after over 20 years of practice.
 
Renshi Mariah Adams was also testing for Yondan (4th Dan) on the 11th, but due to an injury had to continue her test on September 4th and she passed after 16 years of training.
 
Sensei Mike Hern, instructor at the Ocala TKA location earned his Sandan (3rd) after more than 12 years of practice.
 
Ron Hershner (who was visiting from Nebraska) was tested and passed to Nidan (2nd), with more than 10 years at Shodan. Bob Sullivan earned his Shodan(1st) after 3 years practice. Cole H. and Duncan Q. passed to Black Belt Orange Stripe,  Amanda H. Kaelyn V. passed to Black Belt Yellow Stripe.

made when Soke Joe Ruiz, 10th Dan promoted
Mariah A. Adams to Sandan (3rd Dan) and bestowed the title of RENSHI on her. At 16 years of age, Mariah is the youngest traditional RENSHI in history.

CMAC, INC. SPRING INVITATIONAL A SUCCESS!
 
Saturday, May 31, 2008 the Christian Martial Artist Coalition, Inc. held its 1st ever Benefit Tournament at Morrison United Methodist Church, Leesburg, Florida. With only approximately  50 competitors, it was small, but very fun. Many exclaimed their excitement at the opportunity of gaining competition experience in a "Christian Environment."
 
14 Sensei's from around Florida participated in the Referee/Judging of the event. Although it was small the event still made money for CMAC,INC. sponsorship of those students who NEED martial arts training.

 5 students from the Hombu Dojo (H.Q.), which meets at the Christ United Methodist Church across from Beverly Shores Elementary School, under the direction of Kaicho, Ricky Adams, competed in the CENTRAL FLORIDA KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS on Saturday, October 27, 2007 in Umatilla, Florida. All won double awards making our total trophy count to 10. Winners were:
